This work features some new tools I’ve been playing with of late, including improvisatory use of cassettes, walkmans, 4-track and video. The stream begins 8pm AEDT, and will be online for canned viewing afterwards.

in-Stability is a performance series running Thursday nights through August and September as part of my Stability exhibition, where artists from a variety of disciplines are invited to perform with my kinetic sound sculpture and projection works.
Ernie Althoff has been building experimental musical instruments for nearly four decades. He has been a key influence on my work with kinetic sound sculpture, both through Althoff’s own turntable-driven machines, and as a mentor and advisor. Althoff will perform in duet with my sound sculptures.

in-Stability: Allanah Stewart

in-Stability is a performance series running Thursday nights through August and September as part of my Stability exhibition, where artists from a variety of disciplines are invited to perform with my kinetic sound sculpture and projection works.
Allanah Stewart describes her music as ‘punk music for dust mites and church mice’. She is a drummer/percussionist (who plays in local outfits Snacks and Propolis) who extends her practice into sound sculpture and instrument building. Allanah is one of the most subtle and deft percussionists I know, I’m excited to hear how she duets with my sound sculptures.
